"I have a proud history of public service. I want to work for you. We need to continue the proud tradition of excellence in the fire service, and make strategic planning a top priority. With nearly a quarter century of public safety leadership experience, I know what it takes to find solutions, navigate complicated governmental processes, and get things done."

 LIST OF ISSUES

EXCELLENCE

As a member of the Board of Directors, I will work to ensure we maintain the culture of excellence within the Tillamook Fire District and provide the Volunteers, Career Staff, and Chief the best possible support to fulfill the District's public safety mission.  We must continually strive to create an envrionment where the District can improve it's service and cost effectiveness, while maintaining a level of excellence.

STRATEGY

I consider strategic planning one of the most important tasks that a Board can undertake.  A comprehensive strategic plan charts the course for the continued, long-term succes of the District.  I will work collaboratively to support and enhance the District's strategic plan.

STEWARDSHIP

Stewardship isn’t everything; it’s the only thing.  When it comes to keeping watch on the taxpayers’ money, the Tillamook Fire District has a sharp focus on being good stewards.  I will continue to be scrupulously honest custodians of the public’s money.  Funds are spent carefully, and all revenue and spending is accounted for, to the last penny.  During my tenure as a Special District Administrator I ensured that the spending of tax-payer dollars was done very publically, through conservative planning, and cautious oversight.  This philosophy will complement the current fiscal practice of the District and ensure the continued trust of the citizens that we serve.

SUCCESSION PLANNING

One of the most of the important strategic functions for the Board of Directors is to plan for the replacement of key leaders.  Succession planning is a means for the District to ensure its continued effective performance through leadership continuity.
